Der vorliegende Debattenbeitrag ist eine heuristische, teils polemische Analyse. Insoweit, wie das ‹Postmigrantische› als eine Art epistemologisches Wiedergänger*innentum aufgefasst wird, ist die Polemik als postmigrantisch zu verstehen. Der Text bezweckt, die Medienwissenschaft / Medienwissenschaftler*innen sowie ihr Verhältnis zum Thema ‹Medienbildung› thesenhaft zu überzeichnen und zu überlegen: Weshalb gehen sich ‹Medienbildung› und Medienwissenschaft scheinbar aus dem Weg? Als strukturierendes Prinzip für den Beitrag dient eine türkische Redewendung, die dilemmatische Situationen beschreibt: «Wenn ich nach unten spucke ‹Bart›, wenn ich nach oben spucke ‹Schnäuzer›» («aşağı tükürsem sakal, yukarı tükürsem bıyık»). Also egal wohin man das Abjekt (hier besonders: Schule) schleudert, immer bleibt es an einem selbst hängen.

This contribution to the debate series is a heuristic, partly polemical analysis. Insofar as the ‹post-migrant› is understood as a kind of epistemological recurrence, the polemic should be considered ‹post-migrant›. The aim of the text is to purposefully exaggerate and, in doing so, reflect on media studies / media studies scholars and their relationship to the topic of ‹media education›: Why do ‹media education› and media studies seem to avoid each other? A Turkish expression that describes these types of dilemmatic situations serves as a structuring principle for the article: «If I spit downwards ‹beard›, if I spit upwards ‹moustache›» («aşağı tükürsem sakal, yukarı tükürsem bıyık»). So no matter in which direction the abject is flung (here in particular: school), it always sticks to oneself.
