Grammatiken der Alterität

Das ActivityPub-Protokoll abstrahiert die Funktionen sozialer Netzwerke in einem Standard für dezentrale Netzwerke. Alternative soziale Netzwerke verstehen sich als Gegenentwurf zu kommerziellen Plattformen, schreiben aber einige derer Logiken fort. Dieser Beitrag bespricht Aspekte des Protokolls, um daran jene Logiken der Subsumtion und Ausbeutung zu diskutieren, mit denen unsere Sozialität zur Produktion von sozialen Daten umformatiert wurde. Diese Handlungsgrammatiken haben weniger zur Aufgabe, ein solidarisches  Miteinander zu ermöglichen, als einen Produktionsprozess optimieren. Eine polit-ökonomische Perspektive auf unsere Sozialität als kollektiv produzierte Ressource zeigt aber auch, dass alternativen Infrastrukturen als Labore anderer Formen digitaler Sozialität und Fürsorge wirken.

Grammars of Alterity. The Protocol as a Laboratory for the Social 

The ActivityPub protocol abstracts the functions of social networks in a standard for decentralized networks. Alternative social networks understand themselves in opposition to commercial platforms but continue some of their logics. This article analyses two aspects of the protocol to show the logics of subsumption and exploitation with which our sociality has been reformatted for the production of social data. These grammars of action have not been defined to enable communities of solidarity but to optimize a production process. But a perspective on our sociality as a collectively produced resource also shows how alternative infrastructures function as laboratories for other forms of digital sociality and care.
