Fadenspiele forschend ausstellen

Im Gespräch mit Annika Haas berichten Sarine Waltenspül und Mario Schulze von ihrer kuratorischen Arbeit an der ‹forschenden› Ausstellung Fadenspiele im Museum Tinguely Basel (2024/25). Sie reflektieren darüber, wie sich ihre Forschung durch die Kollaboration mit Fadenspiel-Communities, Künstler*innen und Institutionen im Kontext der Ausstellung verändert hat. Eine zentrale Rollte spielte auch die Auseinandersetzung mit der Materialität und Medialität von Fadenspielen. Dazu zählen u. a. Fadenspiel-Filme aus der Sammlung Encyclopaedia Cinematographica, deren problematische Geschichte Fragen nach einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit diesen Filmen aufwirft. Das Gespräch endet mit einem Blick auf die Rolle von ‹cat’s cradles› bzw. ‹string figures› in Donna Haraways Theoriebildung.
