Synthis löten

Der Beitrag reflektiert Löten als Mediendenken jenseits des schaltungsstrukturalistischen Paradigmas. Am Beispiel eines DIY-Stylophon-Kits wird erörtert, wie gemeinsames Basteln von Synthies Gemeinschaft und Erfahrungsräume durch und mit Technik stiftet. In Verschränkung von Medienarchäologie und Sonic Cyberfeminism wird diese Praxis als sonische Solidarität konturiert, die kooperatives und sorgendes Miteinander, affektive Wissensproduktion und die kritische Reflexion globaler Verschaltungen technischer Medien verbindet. Als geisteswissenschaftliche Methode kann Löten dazu anregen, die Ein- und Ausschlussmechanismen der Institution Wissenschaft zu hinterfragen und der Partikularität sowie politischen Materialität elektronischer Klangkulturen nachzuspüren.

The article reflects on soldering as media thinking beyond the circuit-structuralist paradigm. Using the example of a DIY Stylophone kit, it examines how collaborative tinkering with synthesizers fosters community and spaces of experience through and with technology. At the intersection of media archaeology and sonic cyberfeminism, this practice is conceptualized as sonic solidarity: cooperative and caring, affective in terms of knowledge production, and critically reflective of the global entanglements of technical media. As a humanities method, soldering can encourage questioning the inclusion and exclusion mechanisms of academia and listening to the particularity and political materiality of electronic sound cultures.
