Heberer, Feng-Mei
Feng-Mei Heberer is Assistant Professor in the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University. Her research broadly engages the fields of media, migration, and intersectional critique. She is currently (2020) finishing a book on the role of video in the rise of representational politics, arguing that queer feminist Asian diasporic video offers a particularly valuable site to explore the changing parameters of racial visibility. Her recent writing has appeared in Camera Obscura and the edited volume Asian Video Cultures. Complementing her academic work, she has been a film curator for several film festivals, including the Asian Film Festival Berlin.
